I've been experiencing great success with my 50th Year Bucket List! Checking off fun, new adventures and trying to live life to the fullest. However, I hit one pothole in the road.
Being born in 1965 placed me in high school and college during the 80s. An interesting time to build those "formative" years while listening to everything from Meat Loaf and Blondie to A Flock of Seagulls and Madonna. But one of the most iconic musicians of my time would have to be Michael Jackson. His music is the soundtrack to my life! I remember Thriller debuting in my senior year of high school and dancing my way through college to his prolific music.
Through Facebook, I've become aware of a band with a cult following - Yacht Rock Revue. According to their website they're "the finest tribute to ‘70s light rock to ever perform anywhere. Ever." However, this time of year they add a special performance in which they cover the entire Thriller album. The performance was October 17 at the Variety Playhouse. I bought tickets. But somehow everyone I knew, including my husband, was either traveling or sick. Four tickets. Never used.
So far, it's my only 50th Year Bucket List fail. Maybe they'll perform this again soon and if noone else can go with me, I might just go by myself. Turning 50 gives me a whole new confidence!
