A Few of My Favorite Things - Introduced in 1965

I have to first say that I was born in 1965 so I'm a little biased. This is also a very subjective list. Is it a coincidence that some of my favorite things were born the same year as me?

1. Pop Tarts - #1 without a doubt. My brothers and I would get to eat Pop Tarts for breakfast every Saturday. Something we could prepare for ourselves before watching all the great Saturday morning cartoons like Scooby Doo. This tradition started because it allowed my mom to sleep in on Saturdays. I still keep Pop Tarts in the cabinet, but only traditional flavors. I'm not a big fan of all the specialty Pop Tarts that are being introduced all the time. Not quite sure, but I think rasberry is my favorite. What's your favorite flavor.

2. The Sound of Music hit the big screen. It is still one of my all time favorite movies.

3. A Charlie Brown Christmas. This needs no explanation for anyone my age.

4. Cool Whip - Say what you will about this whipped topping. Nothing beats a big dollop of this creamy delight on top of a slice of pumpkin pie.

5. The Campbell Soup Company introduces SpaghettiOs. A staple of my childhool lunchtime.

6. The Pillsbury Doughboy was brought to life and is still a marketing icon. And still just as cute.

7. Lost In Space - My brothers and I loved this TV show! Who was your favorite character?
