In the past few years, I've become aware of a wonderful celebration in Atlanta - Atlanta Celebrates Photography, the largest annual community-oriented photo festival in the US!
This month, ACP marks its 17th annual festival with free events and exhibitions at more than 100 participating venues. I've been busy visiting as many exhibits as possible and I've been sharing images that inspire me on my Facebook page.
I'm participating in My Atlanta Exhibition at Ponce City Market which invited photographers of all ages to hang their best photos at a pop-up gallery and I also entered an image for the SHOTS15 exhibit at The Showcase School. SHOTS15 is a juried exhibition of images created by students of The Showcase School of Photography and my image Porcelain Magnolia was selected to hang in an exhibit with an Opening Reception tonight. Of 312 entries from 159 photographers, only 72 were selected - I'm excited and honored!
Next month I'll celebrate 8 years in the business of photography. I've taken and continue to take classes at The Showcase School. They offer classes with leaders in the industry and I'm always learning something new. If you're looking for classes ranging from Photography 101 to Photoshop and Lightroom, this is a great place to learn!
The SHOTS15 exhibit is on display through December 3. Hope you can stop by and enjoy the work of Atlanta photographers.
