Rustic Magnolia

Each spring, for about 2 months, the majestic and ephemeral magnolia blooms in the South. With its strong, lemony fragrance and large, delicate petals, it captivates my senses.

This blossom was cut from its branch and set up in my studio for photographing it. I then applied digital painting techniques to the image to give the flower its rustic look.
