In March, like everyone else, I was left wondering what to do with my time when businesses had to close their doors and we started to shelter-in-place. As a portrait photographer, I had to shift gears. It took a few minutes, but I decided to take advantage of this unexpected time and I dove in to several personal projects that were previously on the back burner.
Read on to see what I've been up to!
Fine Art
Lisa Hill Photography introduced an online Fine Art store this month so I've redesigned my website and logo to reflect this exciting new venture! In addition to my favorite magnolia images, I've been working on a number of new photographic art collections including abstract, beach, landscape, and wildlife. I spent a lot of time over the past six months honing my skills as a bird and nature photographer which has been an amazing experience for me. At the beginning of the summer I joined both the National Audubon Society and Georgia Audubon Society. You'll begin seeing a lot of social media posts going forward advocating for our precious wildlife and earth with images I've taken this year.
Strange Time Juried Exhibit
Salute to Frontline COVID Workers was selected by jurors for the Strange Time exhibit at the Atlanta Photography Group gallery. When I thought of the strange time we’re living in, I couldn’t help but think of all the out-of-the-ordinary experiences, including the flyover by the Blue Angels in May, and chose this image for submission. I took this photo from the sidewalk in front of my home as they flew over Emory University Hospital.
New Studio Space + Headshot!
I'm excited to share a sneak peek of the new studio space that I'll soon be using soon for portraits and headshots. The window is a custom design (under construction) from Calhoun Design and Metalworks and is a feature that will allow for great natural light. Speaking of headshots, with all the new things going on at Lisa Hill Photography it was time for an updated headshot!
