What a fun day yesterday with so many friends and neighbors taking over the streets in Emory Village! Entertainment, food, drink, and friendship - not to mention the amazing weather! - were among the highlights of the day.
With a huge congratulations to my husband, Todd, for all his hard work and brilliant design to bring the Emory Village Plaza and Fountain to life! It's a legacy that our family will enjoy for years to come.
The original sculpture using found girder rails is a perfect finishing touch to our neighborhood living room - designed and created by Charles Calhoun.

We also remember a special friend, Ted Kelly, whom we lost only a few shorts weeks ago. Ted donated all the labor and materials for the fountain so that he could leave a legacy to his two Mary's - his mother and his wife - so the fountain is lovingly named The Mary Kelly Fountain. Ted's wife, Mary, spoke during the dedication ceremony. She said that Ted always told her he wanted to buy her a big diamond - and that this beautiful fountain was better than any diamond her could have given her! So sweet!
